timeline.
The Skaia Divide Timeline. - Characters awake on either Derse or Prospit; it is immediately clear not everyone is awake. There are extra towers containing unfamiliar faces. There is little regard in the early days as to why or how this happened, most people just want to reunite. There is some speculation as to how this turn of events is possible, but no answers. - It becomes apparent that there is no one currently in charge of either Prospit or Derse. The Royal Families are asleep as well as usual big players. The carapace regard the heroes as Prince's and Princess' of Derse and Prospit. - Jake English goes exploring and while digging, discovers a transportlizer, transporting himself to a Derse cave, essentially knocking himself out. He is later found by Dirk and spends weeks on Derse before returning to Prospit. - Following this Jade and Terezi meet and go exploring too, they also discover similar tunnels as Jake, also containing transportalizers. They begin to build intricate and complicated labyrinths around them in order to hide them. Later, upon completion, maps are handed out to trusted team players. Bunkers are built for humans. - The Grand Highblood awakens, followed by Her Condescension. Derse now has a leader; Prospit does not. Derse is at an advantage. The Condesce does not immediately begin to act; she makes her presence known and then observes. As does the Grand Highblood. - Upon these two awakening Bro Strider and Dirk Strider began to move all the sleeping heroes of Derse to Prospit one by one. Terezi left Prospit to help them, in secret. - The Condesce takes Mituna Captor, Sollux Captor and the Psiioniic into her possession. - Terezi states that Derse refugees will need to be camouflaged. Gamzee takes up the arduous task of murdering carapace in order to provide Prospitian pajamas. - Inbetween this time, Terezi and Gamzee work together to strengthen Gamzee's chucklevoodoos. Gamzee lies to Karkat about achieving godtier too. - Shortly after this The Condesce began mass slaughter on the streets of Derse in order to make her presence felt to reaffirm her position as Derse's new Queen. Feferi, against everyone's wishes, personally takes a stand against her. Dirk and Aradia watch from the sidelines for a brief time before leaving. - Immediately following this, Rose Lalonde turns turncoat, ensuring Feferi's life is saved at the cost of her being imprisoned within the Derse palace. Rose is now an agent of the Condesce. She opens a memo and offers an ultimatum to everyone: either join the Condesce or be considered an enemy and be dealt with death. Immediately following this memo, she makes another one privately to Striders making it clear that she hasn't actually turned turncoat. This is regarded as a stupid move. - Eridan turns turncoat legitimately. Gamzee leaves Prospit with the Grand Highblood, hoping to preserve Karkat's safety for a while longer. His true motivations are unknown at this point. - At various points during all of this, several dreamers went to sleep and awoke with no memory of being awake in the first place. - All the dreamers now on Prospit, Bro and Dirk stayed behind on Derse to keep an eye on Rose. - The Signless wakes up, causing a stir. - Aradia and Vriska get themselves to Derse in order to try and break Feferi out of prison. They split up. Aradia is murdered by Eridan and Gamzee -- as a result, Gamzee's position in the war is no longer explicitly clear. The body is beheaded; the bottom half in Rose's position, while Gamzee temporarily holds onto the head. - Dirk announces Aradia's death. - Bro Strider falls back asleep. Dirk moves his body to the furthest dream tower he can find. - Rose and Feferi summon Horrorterrors. Feferi temporarily goes grimdark. At the end of it, they have a pet horrorterror. - Aradia is revived by the Horrorterrors after being offered a bargain; life in exchange for a memory. She does not remember this transaction or meeting. - Dreamers experience a hypothetical future for 10 days; they wake up with explicit memories of future events. - Gamzee is officually a turn coat, who knew. - Signless and Condesce have a face to face meeting. They probably made-out. Gross! - The Psiioniic wakes up and doesn't do much anything. (Except sass his empress. They probably made-out too. Even grosser.) - Aradia and Kanaya begin to investigate going godtier! - Psiioniic sasses Signless. Everyone is sad. - Gamzee calls Condesce out, rap battle does ensue. - Calliope wakes up! - Dirk begins work on VIDEO AND AUDIO MESSAGING! - Roxy and Jake wake-up! - Aradia and Kanaya continue investigating. - Dirk gets video function up and running on Prospit. - Kanaya kills herself for the sake of figuring out this godtier business. - Gamzee threatens Prospit and invites everyone to a battle royal. - Gamzee bombs Prospit as a warning. - Battle Royal takes place. Aradia murders Gamzee, everyone rejoices. - Meenah comes back. - Kanaya comes back; same stuff as Aradia. Has no memory of deal. - Nepeta switches to Derse, has probably gone nuts. - Tavros wakes up! - Gamzee is back from the dead; same deal as Aradia and Kanaya. - Caliborn wakes up. |

prospit organization times - by <user name="glowsferatu">
basically, it's gonna be a formation of prospit's own agents, following the hierarchy of of the chess board. obviously, this isn't exactly accurate to how the carapacians will see those roles, knowing what kinda thing those tend to be.
anyway!
The King is technically considered the total ruler, and to a degree he could be, but serves mostly as a figurehead. His major responsibility is overseeing Prospit's defensive capabilities, as his position is too vital to let fall and is generally considered unwise to send into battle.
CANDIDATE: Signless
yeah i totally did the graphic wrong leave me alone
The Queen is equivalent to the King in terms of authority, but she is directed very differently. Her task is to the armies, leading from the field and devoted to Prospit's offense. Hers is the edge with which they'll cut through their enemies.
CANDIDATE: Terezi
Bishops are advisers, solicited for their wisdom and perspective on affairs both strategic and domestic. Their task is to Prospit's intelligence, to regulate the flow of information coming in and going out, and to acquire what can be used from the enemy.
CANDIDATES: Aradia, Roxy
The Knight is the commander of Prospit's forces. They may be subordinate to the Queen, but they are no less important to the offensive efforts for it. In recruitment, in training, and in battle, they are the people the soldiers will look to for guidance. They are the army's standard bearers and champions.
CANDIDATES: John, Dave
The castle, the homestead. Serving under the King as the Knight does for the Queen, the Rook is something of a glorified housekeeper, attending to the management of affairs on the planet itself and making sure the trains run on time, etc. They are not only in charge of the current reconstruction efforts on Prospit and its moon, but fortification as well.
Kanaya has already adopted this position.
CANDIDATE: Dirk
Obviously, there are more people available than there would be spots on a normal chess setup without pawns, but in this case a Pawn would be slightly more specialized to the section of the board on which they would be placed. Who Kanaya would assign as a Pawn has a lot to do with her own biases, mind, given what she thinks they'd be able to handle. But, for example, a Knight's Pawn, where she would place Vriska, is essentially a Knight's understudy, like an assistant Knight. Feferi would perhaps be a Bishop's Pawn, already having the task of recording whatever she sees in the clouds. By all rights Rose should be the same, but that's where Kanaya's biases come in. As she's still easing into life on Prospit, Kanaya would probably want her either as Rook's Pawn or Queen's Pawn, because she's a dumb worrywart.
these assignments are mostly drafts, and they can definitely be worked out to whatever works for everyone best. the people still on prospit that i haven't worked out a spot for (or, in some cases, kanaya wouldn't have known she needed to put in one) are jade, calliope, meenah, and maybe karkat. this post is mostly just to get the discussion started, present the idea so we can all figure out how everyone fits.
and by all means, if someone wants to icly argue it with kanaya and maybe knock her domineering attitude down a peg, i am game! she's gonna be pretty obnoxious about the whole thing, so she'll be earning it.

ATTENTION, SUCKERS! IMPORTANT CHANGES AFOOT! 21/08/13
First off, we'd love nothing more than to see Skaia Divide back to its spamming glory, but we're aware that the current line of plot has left some of us a little stuck between a rock and a hard place. Considering the loss of some of our biggest evil contenders, it's understandable why characters would just sit around being dumb and adolescent. However, the entity controlling their destinies right now - from now on, we'll call it The Game - is not happy with all this inanition, so slowly things will begin to change.
First of all, no fingers are being pointed at anyone. As stated above, we understand that this is a secondary game to most of us, and there's been a general agreement that the rhythm of the game itself is comfortable to most of us: there is no pressure to post, so all the posts that do come forward end up exploding with tags. We do feel like everyone involved in this game does participate when there are things in which to participate, so the activity is not the problem. As mods, we've realised that the problem comes mostly from the lack of things to do right now, and so we're aiming to change it with incentives explained below.
As far as applications go, we're going to keep them instated because they do give us a better idea of the knowledge each new player has regarding their character. We still encourage the use of The Test Drive meme as a way for new players to get to know what they're in for (insert evil emoticon here), and encourage you as the players to obviously invite new players in. The game will remain open, but the way to enter it will still be that small and easypeasy application.
What we're going to try and aim for at the beginning is at least a monthly check-in post. This will basically be there so everyone knows who is still playing in the game, and how many characters the mods have to count with for the following plots. And on that note, let's move onwards to the bigger changes!
The game's dynamic will remain as it is, mainly - we understand that this is a secondary game to most of us, and sort of like a sanctuary for all things Homestuck (and good quality), so the rhythm will only change if all of us are into the idea. Let us clarify: it's not that we're okay with everyone being inactive for months, it's that we're okay with people playing when they want to and when they can.
What we as mods will try to do now, however, is give you all incentive to play a bit more often! So with that in mind, we've changed the general idea of the setting - expanded on it, if you will.
Up until now, we've talked about Skaia as the entity that controls everyone's presence on the moons. It turns out, Skaia is just tier 1 on a greater scale of things. The gist of it is the following:
We know this may seem heavy-handed right now, but we promise you we'll try to pace it so that everyone flows through all the events without much effort at all, and so that everyone - the most important part! - has fun in this small little game of ours. As you can see, what we're trying to aim for is giving everyone the incentive to play and post more often, and finding both fun ways to do it (through the smaller events) and plot-full ways. We're very excited about these ideas, both as mods and as players, and would like to hear back from you. What do you think?
DREAM A LITTLE DREAM: MAJOR EVENT - 21/08/13
The Game is not happy with you, trolls and humans and cherubs. Here It thought bringing you to your former moons would fill you with nostalgia and gratitude - gratitude which would transform into obedience. You had one job, guys, one job, and that was to fight the war. Instead, you're all going on and on about romance, building bunkers and tunnels and playing at royalty without actually doing anything! Well.
Not doing anything has consequences.
Starting on the 26th of August until the 1st of September, all the characters will fall into a deep sleep. They will not go back to the canon environment for an update, but they will have dreams.
Upset with the feeble way with which everyone has taken to fulfilling the task (aka, not at all), The Game has decided to remind them that they've got a job to do, and that they cannot resist. Everything has consequences: obeying, resisting, trying to cheat The Game. These are the first ones:
At the end of the week, the characters will wake up and find themselves on their assigned moons. The contact lines between the moons has been cut off, so there are no more tea parties. The tunnels and the bunkers have also been destroyed by unknown forces. They will be back to square one.
As this event will focus on each character separatedly, we need every one of you to reply to this post by answering one simple question: Of all the decisions your character has made, which one would represent the biggest obstacle towards completing the Skaia task of ending the war?
Once you've done that, the mods will discuss which one will be the first dream each characters gets, and offer you an A or B choice. This part can both be played out - we will put up a post in
Keep in mind that possible consequences/punishments could involve: losing a limb, losing an ability, losing a memory, losing one of their senses, losing their mind. If you are uncomfortable with playing out any of that, please let us know now, so that we may adjust adequately.
To give you a general idea of how this will go, take a look at the plotting thread with Terezi.
And with that in mind, have fun and plot away!!
